SOUTH BEACH COMEDY FESTIVAL IN ITS FIFTH
YEAR: The annual South Beach Comedy
Festival returns to Miami Beach
Thursday, January 21st to Saturday, January
23rd, 2010 for another laugh-filled
extravaganza featuring some of the world’s
funniest entertainers. This year’s event
features comedians including, Aziz Ansari,
Mike Birbiglia, Kevin Hart, Gabriel
Iglesias,
and many more. Once again the Festival will
utilize four main locations to highlight its
exciting variety of talent. Acts will
perform at the Fillmore Miami Beach at the
Jackie Gleason Theatre, Lincoln Theatre,
Colony Theater and the Lincoln Road
Stage at Euclid Avenue, which is home to the
Festival’s outdoor, nightly, free comedy
stage. And for the first time, special
shows and official events will be held at
some of South Beach’s hottest clubs. For

CAVALIA DEBUTS UNDER THE WHITE BIG TOP:
Cavalia, the world-renowned equestrian
spectacular presented by the
Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing
Arts of Miami-Dade County will be raising
the White Big Top at Downtown’s
Bicentennial Park, January 19th to the 31st,
2010. The co-founder of Cirque de Soleil,
Normand Latourelle, will unveil another
unique show featuring a cast of more than
100 two and four-legged artists including
horses of 12 breeds, acrobats, aerialists,
dancers, riders and live musicians. Seen by
more than 2.5 million people worldwide,
Cavalia is a tribute to what the horse
has accomplished and a celebration of the
relationship that man has enjoyed together
with horse. This lavished
orchestration of multimedia, equestrian and
performing arts is designed to astound and
entertain people of all ages and

MIAMI INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR STILL A
TRADITION: The Miami International Art
Fair (MIA) kicks off it’s 18th year with
worldclass
art at the Miami Beach Convention Center
January 7th to the 10th, 2010. Galleries
from every continent will be
presenting the best in contemporary art,
photography, video, new electric media and
installation art. The show is presented
in collaboration with Praxis International
Gallery, Miami, New York and Buenos Aires.
For the first time the Fair will illustrate
a
landmark exhibition entitled “Risk,” by
Federico Uribe. Uribe’s internationally
acclaimed work is one of the highlights of
MIA’s
January fair line up. The fair will also
includes a lecture series featuring
prominent experts in Latin American and
International
Contemporary Art. Other fair highlights
include: “Next Generation: 30 artists under
40,” and a special exhibition, “Focus
